    Oil leak....Where from ?

Ok I have had a slow oil leak throughout last summer and It only lost a quart for every couple times I rode.

Now my engine has been pulled. Its hanging now and not seeing any leak with it sitting there. Im sure that the leak may come while the engine is running. So Im guessing the next step is to put engine back in with a clean hull and line under the engine with white rags. Then pull again and check where oil may be leaking.

The oil pump gasket looked good.

    Any other suggestions???

    Thanks!

I had one leak when the dipstick tube wasnt sitting in properly after having the intake manifold off.
Check the bearing in the rubber pto boot there are orings inside that seal on driveshaft and the outermbearings can sit out to far if the shaft has been tight when pulled out.
Check oil pressure switch and oil filter orings.

As TLR said, have you got a induction kit fitted? As i have on my rxp, the standard oil breather pipe that is routed to the standard intake pipe, this now does'nt run to the engine so any oil that is blown out of the engine ends up in the intake pipe and then is free to drop into the hull. hope this makes sense. My ski also lost a little oil each time i rode it and the hull was quite oily at the end of the season. Im pretty confident that mine is caused by the oil breather not being connected to anything. I will b fitting a catch tank soon to prevent this and also so i can keep tabs on how much oil is being blown out. Hope this helps.

While you have it out, replace the o-rings on the oil cooler and the driveshaft seal on the engine.
