    Head for a 98 gp1200 modified

I want to run 93 octane gas with my 98 gp1200. I was gonna use the riva head but it is discontinued. What head should I go with. Please explain why. thanks

    The motor upgrades are:
    SRE poorted cylinder
    SRE 48mm race carbs
    R&D intake
V-Delta reed cages and CF reeds
    Rad aluminum flywheel
    Riva CDI
trued and welded hot rods crank

I have run the Pro tec and Pro design heads with good results have run 150 and 170 psi at 150 psi you should be safe with 89 octane.
    Or mix 93 and 89.
I ran 170 psi for a test on 89 octane just didnt do any long passes and was fine .
Pro tec C-3 is a better piece than the Pro design Cool head but both work well.

I have a Pro Design on ebay right now. It is used but not by me. The domes that are with it are size 30. I think I just want to go with another stock head.

Depending on what you want to do...the best head would be the Greater Yamaha head if you can find them. Next on the list would be the Pro Tec head...RIVA was not the best designed head, it had major trouble leaking and going the through o-rings.

If you want your OEM machined you can send it to me and I can have it done. I will need exact measurements from your port work though before you send everything.
