What kind of steering is this?

I was told this was for a GP1200 but is it an aftermarket steering from yamaha or oem?

I was going to buy it but guess its a waste of money. I am just going to wait and get the umi steering. waiting for some 31'' umi bars but they are on backorder. guess ill just wait unless someone has some 31'' bars (umi) and steering for a 98 gp 1200.

I prefer a solid steering column but I never tried those find someone who used them and see what they say.

My gp1200 came with that thing. Some blaster and surfrider guys swear by them. Mine was worn out and had to be removed with a sawzall The concept is cool, but the plastic bushing will wear out pretty quick, and if you don;t lube the crap outta everything when you put it together, you ain't getting it apart. It is made with VERY tight tolerances. . .typical yammi.
