    cool flat filter

    anyone use the cool air flat filter by r and d? is it an easy install? how. worth the easy 60 bucks?

    yep and yep........ anything that can assist in coolin the engine bay without water ingress can,t hurt.....on the install all I did was undoo the two 10mm nuts on either side cowlin lifted up and apart popped out the cover. popped in the filter replace the nuts...job done...it,s that easy and took less than 10 mins....

    Very easy install. Worth the money IMO.

    Beagleman,
    How come you didn't pull the glove box out for increased air flow, I am waiting on my filter to turn up from r-rated, guess they must be on holiday. Anyone pull the box out and notice a difference.

    The glove box will not come out. It's part of the steering cover. When you remove the plastic access cover plate, you'll see that the bottom of the glove box fits tight down on the cover. The R&D filter sits lower in the opening so it provides enough of a gap between the filter and the bottom of the glove box to provide good air flow.

    also, I have noticed that the front of the glove box is curved so that it does not cover the filter, it leaves some of the filter exposed.

    easy install. thanks bob. turned it on too afterwards and could hear the airflow under the glove box. good.
