I put the UMI on last year.
You'll love the feel of the steering

    Looks Great.
I have to ask how the heck do you get the front cowl off ?
I have a UMI steering going on as soon as I feel confident in not breaking the cowl pieces.

Just take your time and try to angle the bottom upwards, pulling the top of the piece outwards...I have broken only one because I was impatient and just yanked it. Just keep even pressure pulling outwards and it should let go.

If ya'll are interested I found some stainless bearings to replace the UMI ones, they are sealed too.

my replacement bearings get dropped off in 20 minutes and tomorrow it goes on my project ski

bring on the UMI action and thanks to joeblo i have a nice set of protec bars waiting to go on as well.

hey does that bloack rubber matting at the bototm really matter, as in does it have to be intact because mine is sort of missing.

You can put a bead of silicone in place of the black gasket. I am more concerned with the rubber grommets fitting well, to keep the cables from excessive wearing.

How does the UMI action feel? Is the stock play eliminated? I've checked new GPRs and the play is apparent; is this a design characteristic; does it pay to try and shim out all the slop??
    Thanks,

    jp

Mike how much speed gains are in the umi? You guys make my ski look slow with all that purdy stuff! LOL I guess I'm an ol hum bug my ski's appear bone stock I wont even install an a/m seat cover! Man I still remember riding your triple pipe at gulfport that was the first time I had been 83mph and ever rode a 3 piper! Ya gotta miss that baby! Those piped gpr's are addictive There just aint no other sound in the world better than a 3 piper. Abbotts gpr is the best sounding ski I ever heard in my life! Gotta get me that wb setup IF it dont hurt speed...
