Is a big bore a good thing?

I know what it is. Just wondering if there has been good luck with them. If you have read some of my other posts I need to rebuild a 98 GP1200. At first I thought I needed a whole new set of cylinders, but I think all I need is some new sleeves. I found a complete big bore kit with sleeves piston kits and all for $450, they are Wiesco. I think someone also had told me that Wiesco is not the best choice for these.
As of now my plan is to get this rebuilt and maybe a Group K sleeper kit. I still want the reliablitly and ease of maintaining. Not really interested in making this ski an alll out rocket.

Oh yes the piston sizes are 85.5. Also is there a place the site prefers for this type of work? (resleeving)

    Thanks for any advice.

Give me a call, I can answer some of your questions.

It's alittle easier over the phone.

WISECO pistons are forged, atleast the ones in my 65U are.

    agreed! pasted from wiseco
Wiseco started in the off-road/marine market some 60 years ago. Its aluminum-forged pistons are lighter and more dependable than most cast or hypereutectic pistons, giving you the performance you want. Wiseco uses the world’s most advanced forging process followed by an extensive heat-treat and finishing process that assures performance and reliability.
