    Looking at Several Skis...

    Looking to purchase a ski...
Im am narrowed down to the Yamaha 08FX SHO, 07-08FX HO or SEADOO 08 RXT-X,07 RXT...
Found the Yamahas reasonable in price and the SEADOO 07 RXT for 9600...

Whats some pros and cons between some of these skis?

    Fuel economy difference?
    handling?
    top speed?
    accelleration?
    trim or no trim?
Upkeeping ease(close loop or open loop durability or oil chaning)
    Difference in superchargers?

the sho has trim and can kill a rxt (not an x model a regular rxt)
yamaha is known to be more reliable than sea-doo's
i'm not sure on the fuel economy
the sho is a real nice ski i'd go for it but again this is the yamaha section..

the fx ho could have around the same top end as the sho for around 1,000 bucks but sho may have better holeshot..we haven't seen a lot of people test these machines good enough yet so i'm just relying on the commercial sources: boattest.com,pwctoday etc.

All around the yami is a better all around craft go for it.

Well im trying to justify the price difference from a 07 RXT to a 08 FXSHO...I dont need the latest and greatest but i do want a nice supercharged...I dont have one now and havent owned one but have ridden many...Im looking at 1600 at least from 97 RXT to a FXSHO..

Lol wow, how more BIAS can you be. First of all can we get things straight. The SHO has better accel and better top, but does no where near KILL an RXT. Its faster, yes but to say KILL, then your outta yo mind. Second, for the money you would spend no an 07 , you might as well spend a lil more and get an 08. Go with the SHO or RXT x...Sho is more cruiser friendly, and rxt x is fast fast fast. They both have tabs, but I might have to say yami is a lil more reliable

The yamaha FXHO may be more reliable, but there is no telling how reliable the SHO will be. If you get the 07 RXT you should immediately replace the ceramic washers in the supercharger to protect yourself. but beyond that, its proven to be a very nice & reliable ski with proven upgrades.
JT you need to hang out on the Sea Doo forum now, there is nothing for you here!!!! LOL!!!
Actually Drummer03, JTSkier has spent as much time on this matter as anyone so his advice is worth taking into consideration IMO....

Yami's have the lame reverse lever on the throttle side(seadoo's and the rest its on leftside).

The Yami's use regular unleaded, the SeaDoos require premium

The 08's seadoos come with metal washers so no need to replace the washers anymore. Heard the gas millage on the rxt and rxp -x models aren't the greatest. I would probable go with the sho just because you don't have to use premium gas. Just my two cents.

Fuel will be the biggest issue this year. If it wasn't for the high prices that are forcasted for this summer, I would have a Rxt-X(if it was available) in my garage right now. I'm a die hard Yamaha guy but from what I have seen and read on the X ski's....I'm impressed. But premium fuel this summer is going to be 4-4.50$ a gallon, maybe more.

A barrel of oil as of last Friday was at $106.00 and they expect it to climb even further to possibly $120 to $150, by the summer.

If anything if you are serious about Yamaha, you better hurry up and buy, the US dollar is weakening fast and the Japanese Yen is gaining. Meaning price adjustment is going to take into effect and your Sho is going to cost alot more. Along with everything else.
