    Unhappy 2001 polaris virage help please

    hello again i have a 2001 polaris virage 2 stroke carb my problem is that it does not want start they changed the stater and stator new battery no luck yet ,then i took it to get look at and they say that presure in one piston is at 50 the other is at 150 i know needs fix but is that the problem for not starting? this is the third mechanic i just want to be sure

    Welcome to the Hulk.If one cylinder is at 50 PSI,then yes,you have a major engine problem,Burnt piston,bad rings,etc. and will need a rebuild.
    It will cost you a considerable amount of money for someone to rebuild it. if your up to it,the guys on here can walk you thru a rebuild,if your sorta good with a wrench and the desire to learn.

    I'm curious why anybody would change the stator, starter etc. if there's only 50 pounds compression in a cylinder?

    To be able to help you,you really need to give us the whole history on the ski. Try and be complete and in time order on what first happen,then who did what,them what happen next,Etc.

    Most likley. If the cylinder that is low on compression is the one that host the pulse line for the fuel pump, then it is probably too week to pump fuel.

    The no spark issue can be found fairly easily by going throuh the trouble shooting guide that is in the manual (the manual can be found in the tech section).

    Don't think I have time,Still have to get Pirates skis running,and ride the Spitfire,and find Casper,and.....well you get the idea. Alot to do with only 3 weeks left.
