    1st Gen GT/GTS/GTX hull -- opinions?

My wife has a '94 GTS 580, which was our first ski and still very cherry. We've considered upgrading, but she can't find anything she likes as much. I am forced to agree, even though there are lots of faster, fancier, newer craft. It's not a carver, but it's a stable, smooth riding (on the sort of inland lakes we visit) cruiser without a silly, scoopy seat or chrome plated geegaws. It's actually smaller and lighter than today's 2-seaters!

I'm tempted to look for a 720 version of this same hull, or wait try the swap myself whenever the engine needs it, which will likely be a long time from now.
...or even better, put a 4tec in it. (j/k)

What do you all think? Is our affection misplaced? Those of you who have spent time with this hull type, and newer stuff, how does it stack up?

i like the older hulls better, but yours is underpowered, by alot!!!
did they puta 800 or 951 in that style hull??
    i cant recall.
the older hulls are so much lighter and "surf" across the water. it feels alot different from the new skis that are light supertankers.
have you ever ridden a GSX or SPX?? they are more single person skis, but are even more fun to ride. with great power for such small skis.

a 95 GTX with a 657X or 96 GTS with a 720 would be a step up but parts are becoming obsolete so stock up on anything that is dealer only like electrical stuff when you find them at a bargain.
