    Anyone here offshore fish?

I am just curious. I am going to pick up a 23-26' walkaround/Center console/Cat(I LOVE the Glacier Bay 22 Canyon Runner) early next year to get into the offshore game. Not so much the canyons but more so 8-9 miles out, and when i get more comfortable, maybe a run out there.

I used to go a lot with my Uncle Bob, back when we had a beach house. He had a 24' Grady, 28' Cat of some sorts, and now has some 38' Tiarra or something, might be a Cabo, I havnt seen it but once.

Basically I am asking, if anyone here does fish, to shoot me a PM. I need to talk to someone about the ins and outs of getting started.

    Thanks all!

Edit: Going with a used boat, so keep that in mind if you have advice. Won't do a new one unless the price is very right, which it won't be on a boat that size.

It all depends on how deep are your pockets, a 23' C/C with a single 225 would work for a budget. When you get in the 25' and up class and walkarounds (heavy), twins or triples engines are the rule. Parker, G/W, Contender, See Vee and some of the ocean going cats are good. In my area in So.Fl. there is alot of boats like that for running to Bahama's and the gulfstream. You can save quite a bit by buying used and have most of the equipment already taken care of. Save some money and put some flat line clips on the doo!

Thanks for the heads up man. Im not in a position to buy just yet, but i send him a pm for a rundown on what he thought about the boat.

As of now, the GB 2260 Canyon Runner and the Defiance 260 are at the top of my list.
