Thread: 08 X ECU's

    08 X ECU's

I have had a ton of calls regarding the new ecu's so i thought i'd post something here because it seems there's a lot of questions with these and some bad info out there.

    08 X ecu's-
    - rev limit- 8800
    - minimum octane- 93
    - must use RR light retainer/shim kit or riva valvetrain kit AND light valves(or lightened stock valves)
    - will not work on 07 model due to different functions(eg: trim memory)
    - must use with 60 lb injectors
    - adds 35 hp with a good air intake

07 model RR ecu's can be recurved to the 08 X mapping. same rules apply as listed above

06 and previous model RR ecu's cannot be remapped to the 08 X mapping

if you have a question i have not answered feel free to ask.

So are you saying that the new x boats ecu will have the same 8800
rev limit, or is this the rotax racing replacement for a stock ecu? Any pricing yet?

    thanks.....mike

I am not following this, are saying:

-must use RR light retainers/shim kit or riva valvetrain kit, both kits must use lightened valves
-or only the riva valvetrain kit much use lightened valves

If you look back to the "who wants a new X model supercharger" #3 I think Jerry says otherwise. Who is right????

you need light valves to use this ecu with both the rotax and riva valvetrain

He is saying that regardless of whether you go with the Rotax Racing aluminum retainers and shims OR the Riva lightweight valvetrain kit you must ALSO use lightweight valves

From my understanding you also lose the VTS on the first batch of 2008 X ECU's but supposedly Rotax is making it available soon on the second batch? I also heard they will be able to re-flash the first batch of ECU's so the VTS will work.

    Thanks!
