I have a 2000 GP1200R. I meet a guy at the lake in Modesto, Ca. He told me about this site. Anyway he had the same ski as I do. he said he change the Barrels and piston to make it a 1400. I want to make mine faster. I have a D plat, solas 13/19 Impeller.
I need to know what to do to the carbs. as far as jet sizes, what keyway to use for timming.intake grate.etc
i have several friends with different skis and I don't want to be beaten by them.

What was the Guy's name? I think I know someone from the Modesto area. Now that I think of it he has a GroupK 1390 too. Welcome to the Forum Ron!!

If your interested in a 1400 motor I can help
you and supply properly jetting, props, timing
and other details on my motor setups. I carry
core cylinders and stock heads for customers
wanting big bore motors, so they can sell, trade
or just keep there current 1200 setup on there ski's.
Setup properly they can be in the 81 to 84 mph
range, depending on what extra mods and tricks
you have added to the motor.

It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. There are a lot of mods that need done before or during a bigbore build. For starters you need a fast rideplate (Jims Plate) and the proper intake grate R&D double bar Aquavein (800 grate for top end or 1200 grate for rough water). You need to reinforce your pump tunnel, a high pressure pump, a Solas Dynafly 14/20 that will need to be eventually repitched. You get my drift?
Let us know what your budget looks like and we will help you get the most out of your money.
The 13/19 impeller will get you to 69 mph. It is too small for a bigbore. The D-plate will work fine.
