    Memory for PC

If you are in the market for memory, or thinking about upgrading, Newegg.com is having a great sale going on now. I picked up 8GB of Corsair 240-pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) with heat spreaders for $200. They have both an instant and mail-in rebate, plus free shipping. Each kit (2 x 2GB) ends up being $99.

I have bought a lot of stuff over the years from Newegg, and for price and service they usually can't be beat.

Check the rebate for how many you can actual claim, when I got my memory it was only ONE per person/household. I end up buying from Newegg, and Tiger Direct, to get rebates on both.

Check this deal out at Tiger Direct.com

True about the rebate (one per household) - I bought a kit and a "friend" bought a kit.

I don't even want to think of how much I've spent with newegg.

I've got the 8GB installed on my 64-bit Ubuntu machine, and I added another SATA hard drive I also picked up at newegg, so now I have 1TB of storage.

Geez - I need to cut down on my hobbies...

Yep - the latest release of Compiz Fusion. The cube blows away anything on Windozes.

I'm also running VMWare Workstation - nice having a host with 8GB, and three guests (Windows XP, Ubuntu 32-bit and Fedora 8 64-bit) running at the same time...
