I just pulled mine 96 slt 780........ The after you get the bolts loose. pull out slightly on the hull lift bolt up just a hair the slide the whole pipe foward. The bolts will not come out, but it will alow for movment.

Yeah...believe it or not you can back these out. I had to keep backing them out of the threads which actually ground them into the top of the fiberglass a little but nothing major. They wont come out but they will come far enough to slide out the j pipe. If all your brackets are loose you will be able to pull the j pipe slightly to pull the bolts completely out.

You can hold the bolts up with a rubberband when re installing so they don't get in the way.

If your going to drll the bolt, you're going to need a COBALT drill bits. They're pricey, but will drill SS with no problem. Just be sure to drill slowly, or the end will burn up and lose it's cutting edge.

A good hardware store should carry them, and you can get the sizes you need individually. You shouldn't have to buy an entire set.

    Talking 3 1/2 bolts out

got the 3 1/2 bolts out still have half a bolt to get out. the remaining bolt/stud is in the exhaust manifold not the exhaust pipe. check out the pics...................3 1/2 bolts was a 5 hour job..............see the 2 bolts......................? they should be the same length. these things where frozen on there. that bent bolt in the pic i thought was gonna break off. it came off with 1 hour worth of heat from my hand torch which i laid underneath the exhaust.............1 hour..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
