Seadoo Xp 97 Mods 2 go fast
First of all i think this is the best Forum ever..thanks
as the season starts here in Amsterdam and everybody is talking about going on the water, i dont want to be last in line
So i did some fresh new styling on the outside with some led lights to Go.
but one month ago the new X-type's came out here in holland and i have already 4 co-riders who bought one.
is there any way to make this faster its factory stock with worx intake en sponsons Thats it..
What kind of impeller do i need?or head is this a good engine to do mods on?
any help would be great...

good engine but will always be underpowered for that hull model.
it is stock 110HP
the next year they upped it to 130HP
you can do a few mods to increas eperformance but itstill will not even be close to keeping up with the new skis.
it is a carving and turning ski, great for choppy water and tight corners etc. not as fast on the top speed.
you can get aftermarket F/A's rejet the carbs, mill the head.
those are nice mods to get extra performance for not to much money.
then get an aftermarket impeller and new wear ring to get the most out of your new HP...
go check out PPG at www.sea-doo.net, they sell a Level 1 kit that is exactly setup for your engine. it gets you all the above mentioned mods in a package deal. if you are mechanically inclined and have engine tuning capabilities you can do all teh work yourself, but if not PPG can do it for you. yopu mail them your carbs, and head, they mail back properly tuned and milled parts to bolt on and go with minimal tuning.

Is there anyway to modefy the engine yourself, im pretty nice with the metal grinding tools...
Or is this totaly a no,no...in the moped and dirtbike days we too some of the head to make larger compression.
Are there any blueprints for this i'm willing to take the risk (and i have a spare cilinder )
any other tips or tricks would be great...

you can get flame arrestors pretty easy, and rejet the carbs too.
i would not mil the head unless you get it done at a machine shop to a very specific specification. post up here lot of guys know what setup is best for tuning the 800cc engines.

Find a rossier head or a r&d rec head
Rejet and flame arrestors - rejetting is easy if you have worked on bike carbs
xo prop with 85/88 nozzle setup
lightened flywheel and pto
and if your going to get port work done, get it by Brian Thomas, I have seen some of the cylinders he's ported and must say they are very nice. Along with that, he's got one of the fastest x4's I've seen around.

I wouldn't send shiznit to PPG just put some flame arrestors on it,rejet, prop, nozzles,it will make a big difference

Hasn't Harry at GroupK had some success with that platform for a reasonable amount of money?
It is underpowered for that hull, but I suppose it could be made better than it is.
There is always a little "left on the table" no matter what model it is.

group K says that an ECWI will help a lot even in a stock exhaust..
what do you guys think?
