    Replacement LCD & Hour Meter

I have a question for you guys. I have an "07 RXP. I cracked the LCD screen and need to get a replacement. Where is the hour meter memory stored at? In the ECU or on the LCD panel?

If it is stored on the LCD panel and I get an used replacement, how much will it cost to have a dealer to reprogram to my correct hours that are on my ski?

If it is stored on the ECU then I assume I can just get any meter and just pop it in then?

    Thanks for all your info.

for 2002-2005 4-tecs, the gauge does nothing but display... no internal memory. All hours, run time data, and logs are strictly in the ECU

the way it's done now is that the hours are stored in the gauge cluster exclusively, it's its own onboard computer. the ECU stores run-time percentaged, NOT hours. meaning, the ECU will tell you that the machine spent 15% at 3000rpms, 20% at 4000 rpms, 4% at 8000+ rpms, etc etc... it breaks it down into percentages. those percentages do not have a nominal hour or minute breakdown in the ECU

well my bad then... didn't realize they changed since mine is an 04. How does one replace the display unit then? The dealer has to reprogram the replacement to match the hours?

well i've done 3 of them now... two 06 skis, and one07 ski...

it needs to be done at the dealer because the gauge cluster on 06+ models is married to the ECU. if the gauge and ECU are not programmed and married together, ur ski wont work and u'll get all error codes and beeps. so no matter what ur taking a trip to the dealer for a replacement gauge cluster.

everytime i've changed them..... they go back to zero hours
