    help with hitch and hitch receiver vibration knocking

    what can be done to help the knocking between the hitch and hitch receiver from knocking? i have the square one for 5000 lbs and and 3 different receivers and they all do the same thing they knock too much play between the two my hitch is intigrated to the bumper.

    duct tape, dont laugh, it works.

    I use washers as shims, I pound them in with hammer and punch.

    Have a look at these, these work. stopped 90% of the clunking between my van and trailer, and Xterra and trailer...

    I have seen guys drill a hole and weld a nut and make a snubber bolt.
    Sometimes if the gap is small you can use spray paint and load it into the receiver to take up some of the difference. if it is a big gap duck it.

    me 2! i wrap mine in electrical tape... problem solved, LOL

    if its knocking around you do not have enough tounge weight...the skis arent balanced properly.

    This is what I use.... I have a couple of them. I use it for my tow hitch as well as my cooler rack for surf fishing. Best investment ever!

    not true... the tongue is still going to move around regardless of weight... it's called modern day road construction

    i take trailer setups and tongue weight very seriously... they bang aound if you have the class III 2" receivers...

    wow tape yes i am laughing my bumper hitch is not standard
