    2008 Facts

I was at my dealer today getting my WB welded up for free i might add and i was looking through the update book for 08.

RXP-X gets the intake tract from a GTX model (so the longer intake is nothing new to us, just the RXP platform)

Spring washers are now 1.5mm instead of 1.25mm thick for longer life (i guess they did this because of the large wheel) (i was thinking about stacking my current spring washsers two at a time for this reason, guess it could work now that i see this)

New oil tube forces oil down the center of the SC shaft instead of spraying on the washers like with the ceramics.

Larger SC shaft, and everything is now polished.

The 08 SC will fit previous model years but not vise versa because the oil down the center will cause the Ceramics to slip.

    Larger pump support i believe.

Probly the best is camchain has seamless links and will fit previous model years. (stronger)

Intake grate only bolts to the ride plate now, not the pump support. so with that being said, NEW rideplate design.

X model skis use the intake manifold from the 185hp platforms.

New ignition something or other to help keep the motor off the limiter when you come unhooked.

all stainless hardware now. Once the mix runs out.

There are many more good improvements this year but i can't remember and i couldn't have the book

Oh yeah if you need a new long block for 04-05 models you are pretty much hosed, you have to get an 06 long block use all of the electronics from an 06. so basically you have to update your whole ski.

yeah not so good for my 04 rxp. I am tempted more and more to just trade it in and get rid of all the potential problems.

Hold on to what ya got. There are soooooooo many 04-05 mills out there that you`ll be ok. And just how many years are you gonna get without a total refurbish. Hell,,,,,,,,,,how many 92 models are really on the water? For instance,,,,,,,
