    Replacing Stator tomorrow....questions!!!

    So im gunna spend most of the day replacing the stator, is there anything that I should look out for???????????...I'm planning on leaving the motor in the boat, but if I absolutley have to I guess I'll remove it

    Bummer the kit and video aren't ready yet.

    Biggest thing is to mark the stator to the cases so you get it timed correctly.
    Be sure to verify your timing after the install is complete. Too retarded and you suffer a power loss, too advanced and you could experience deto, over heating etc.

    Just make sure the stator plate mark is aligned with the case halves "seam".

    Do yourself a favor and and run a string to the old stator wires. So when you install the new one, you can pull the wires to the back easily.

    so what you're saying is to use the seam on the case halves as a reference point??? that's what i kinda thought if so

    I was thinking about taking the electrical box out compeletly, cleaning it, then installing the wiring, then run the stator up front, rather then messing around with the electrical while in the hull? does that sound too complicated

    Yes and yes

    There's alot of wiring to be disconnected in order for the elec box to be removed.

    ya it sucks better have a good set of driver bits and needle noses , and for god sake unplug the battery

    What puller are you using? I have pirate post pictures of a 9.00 puller from Harbor Freight that I cut down to make it easier.
