Simple exhaust Q on ZXi/sts 900cc
hey guys. I wandered over from x-h2o. Love your site, tons of great info.
Got 2 easy questions to lob at you guys. I did a couple of searches, but could not find my answer.
On the stock pipe, where does the stinger line lead to? Line goes from the stinger on the pipe, then into the top of the pump cavity, but I can't see where goes to around the pump. There's only 1 cooling fitting on the pipe that I can see & it goes to the exhaust manifold. The only other hose in the pup cavity is the bilge siphon.
Is there a replacement gasket for the exhaust head pipe that is fiber material insted of stainless metal ones? maybe WSM one is fiber?
I'm referring to # 11060a & 11060 in the pic. The dealer wants $60 for the 2 metal ones! The previous owner of the ski was a 'neck, and he put RTV silicone on these gaskets. What do you normally put on these metal gaskets? Copper gasket spray? nothing? I hate metal gaskets.....
The rubber hoses just after the stinger had melted...thinking because of the RTV silicone blocking the water flow.

Welcome to the Green Hulk!!!
Yes, copper spray normally works well for re-using metal gaskets.
Here is the diagram from the zxi manual. Maybe it will help??
