    Premixing Gas

Do you guys usually mix it in a can before putt it in the ski? Or is putting some gas, then the oil, and them some more gas in the tank good enough?

I pour the oil into the tank then the gas. But i never premix until i need to. All my gas containers have straight gas in them.

you can do it this way for real and your not worried it not mixing..

reason i ask is i went premix on both my gpr's to now find stupid new laws in uk say i cant get more than 10 litres in any can at once at one time... man the trips i have to make with 10 litres then add oil and mix up before i put in the tank..

I put mine in 5 gallon jugs. Put in about 1 gallon of gas then put in my oil. That way it is mixed up by the fuel.

By the time i get the ski to the ramp it is all mixed up from the bumps in the road. The reason i dont mix my fuel in the jugs is sometimes some of the guys i ride with will need fuel and they dont use gas/oil mix. I also have this thing that i think gas stays fresher with no oil added. But that is all in my head.........

I always premix in a container. I don't dump all my gas in at once, so I take it to the gas station to mix.

Thanks for the tips guys. I always did it in jugs for go-karts and such but I am going to need some new jugs for the ski. Looks like I am going to be getting some jugs tomorrow and hitting up the 101 at the pump place i have.

Thats the way I do it most of the time too.

If the ski is very empty I have been known to put enough oil directly in the boat for 10 gallons of fuel and then pump the gas in. By the time I get to the ramp I'm confident its mixed. 10 good wiggles with the steering wheel at 30mph helps.

Used to mix in the tank all the time... until one day, we did it for a race the next day in Parker AZ. The ski sat over night with a dramatic 30deg temp change. It was about 90 that day, and was only about 55-60 the next morning before the race. Put the ski in the water, and ran it around a few minutes then it died. Had it pulled back to the ramp and the gas lines were full of OIL. Somehow, it had seperated during the night, and had not remixed and the pickup had filled itself with only 2strk oil. Sucked it out into cans and remixed the same gas in jugs just fine.
