    Thru hull fitting

    Well, got a little project this w/e putting a jet pump on a SLH. Here's what happened-the bearings went bad in the stator and this thing vibrated so bad it actually broke the thru hull fitting; the speedo pick-up; obviously the stator housing; wear ring & impeller both toast. Gonna use the pump from the boat Keddano and I bought.
    Anyway, partsland doesn't list the speedo pick up; anybody know where we can get this? Also, anybody ever change the thru hull fitting? This thing even broke doesn't want to come out the boat. We are going to check engine alignment as well, the motor was changed once. BD, need an alignment tool!
    Moral of this story; if your ski ever starts to make a whining sound like its got a turbo but doesn't, it'll barely move under full throttle, dont try to make it back to the ramp........

    I like to use the Polaris look up, it's much better than Partsland and includes a look up so you can see what other pwc/atv etc. it fits.

    Get with Jay at Alantic,He can get another thru hull fitting and O-Ring that goes with it. You could take a die grinder and slowly work around the inside till you cut thru the fitting.

    Worked on this boat today and learned somethin new-the thru hull fitting is two piece; fitting inside the hull threads into the other piece thats slides up into the jet pump cavity under the boat. I only post this as some poor SOB might run into the same thing someday. Probably not a part that needs replaced very often.

    You should'nt have to replace it unless it cracks, The O-Ring can go bad and then need replacing.
