my p-x is stock, it flies up to 70 on the speedo, which is about 8000 rpms, then just stops, climbs steady from 65-70, but then just stops, havent seen faster than 70 yet, is that the speedo, or is there something else i dont know?

The speedo wont pass 70 because its designed not to. The ski is also only "designed" to do 70. It may go slightly faster (1-2) mph but any speeds higher then 71ish would only be possible through various modifications. Also to read speeds past 70 you must use a portable gps unit.

Simple "free mods" will gain you some speed such as filling your ride plates holes, or modifiying your intake grate. Do some reading around the forum before doing anything though. The x models are new and people are just beginning to experiment with them.

The speedos are usually not correct, like one guy called them on one of these threads "dreamometer". They are off by about 3 mph, at least according to my gps. I have check probably around 10 different skis, and that is pertty much the avg.

If you are every around Sunrise or the state park area and see a t-x riding around, that might be me. Flag me down, I usually have my gps on me and we will check your speedo.

I would be willing to bet that you are actually hitting 67-68mph
