650 cylinder core for use on a 750?

I'm trying to determine if stock 650 cylinders will work with 1993 750 components. I shelled my original cylinders, and I was told that the 650 and 750 are identical (aside from displacement).

Will I be able to accomplish everything with a 650 core that I would with a 750 core? I have noticed that the cylinder sleeves on my 750 core extend down into the case, where the 650 do not. But I thought that when it was resleeved, they would put the appropriate sleeves in based on my application.

In short, is this a common and simple procedure, or is it best to start with a genuine 750 core?

the 650 motor has a different stroke than a 750. ( not to mention the sleeves like you said).

i remember back in the day, people putting 750 cyls on the 650 cases. you had to have a stroker crank, and the motors ran poor.

stick with all 750 parts. MUCH less headach, and it will be less expensive.

OK, by your response, it sounds like you are assuming I'm wanting to use a complete 650 motor. Sorry if my explanation wasn't clear enough, but my 750 will be rebuilt w/ all 750 parts, ASIDE from the cylinders. I got a set of 650 cylinders for 50 bucks, so i was hoping i could use them.

So knowing that all I want to use from a 650 is the cylinders....does the answer still remain no?

no, i totally understood your question. you want to run 650 cyl on a 750 bottom end.

as i was saying, the 650 motor has a different crank stroke ( the amount the pison moves up and down in the cyl.) this is NOT a bolt on. you would have to have your 750 crank rods changes to something custom, to match teh stroke of the 650 cyl. it is NOT worth doing, and you would end up with a smaller bore, ports, less hp, ect.

750 parts are plentyfull. just use a 750 cyl.

sell off any extra 650 parts you have, if you need to help fund your motor build.

Hey Zig I am a friend of litemupok, I gave him the 650 cylinders hoping they would work, but told him to check on here to make sure. So now that we know they will not work, do you have any decent 750 cylinders that will work for his ski??? and if so how much shipped to 73013??? that is Edmond Oklahoma, also he said he wants to bore out and go with bigger pistons, do you have any piston kits??

    yes, and no....

i do have a 750 cyl here. but it is already at 81.5mm over. the exh ports have been ported. i would sell this for 150.00 + s&h.

i do NOT have any 81.5mm pistons though. i can order some.

i DO have a new set of wiseco's at 81mm. special price of 100.00 + s&h for the kit, ( 2- pistons, rings, pins, and c-clips) if you find a different cyl. ( this is less that 1/2 of original retail price).

have your friend contact me via email if i can help at all.

thanks, and good luck with your build.
