    rxp-x engine life

    Hey guys,
    stumbled across this web site a few days ago and have been reading and learnt a lot from these forums.
    I am waiting on the delivery of my new rxp-x. I have a few questions i dont think have been answered in these forums.
    I am mostly worried about the life expectency of the 255hp motor.. How many hours should i expect to do before i am looking at a full rebuild?
    Also my last ski was a Yammy 99 1200 XLT, should i expect the rxp-x to be better or worse on fuel?

    worse on fuel, but alot more powerful!!
    these engines dont get "full rebuild' like the 2 strokers.
    its a 4troke fuel injected supercharged intercooled engine.
    if you dont have any bolt on problems, like SC goes bad, or IC leak, , these would cost in the realm of 500-750 to rectify...
    the engine will last alot longer than the 2 strokers did. 2stroker life was 250hrs average let say.
    4tec life could easily be 750hrs.

    now if you dont take care of your engine, and do dumb things like get water in the cylinders, fry your SC and dont fix it right, your engine could die at 25 hrs or however long it takes you to destroy it
    basic PWC maintenance applies, but in general the 4tec is aot more robust than a 2stroke.
    on the other hand a 2 stroke could be rebuilt or $1500,
    a 4stroke is gonna cost 4-6k

    With simple maintanance 250hours is not unheard of with no problems.
