    Question Help with 96XP electrics

    Hey gang...

I was wondering if any of you can help me with this issue:

For some time now my XP does not give me that double beep when attaching the kill switch knob.

The main gauge does not show anything i.e. it seems to get no power.

I checked the fuses in the box, and that seems OK.

    Any ideas?

PS - I hate not being able to edit the title..."Helop" means HELP

did you check the 15amp fuse in the rear electrical box? is the small ground wire hooked up to the battery?

Hook up a jumper wire from a good engine gound to the negative battery post. If the gauges power up then the main gound wire is bad.

Have you checked the 15 amp fuse in the black box and all three fuses in the gray box?

I would get a new dess cord programed first & if that doesnt get any better then a new dess post, the cord is not being recognized so it could be either one of the 2.

If his lanyard was bad it would still give him the single beep and power the gauges. I could see his post being bad, but if he pushes the start/stop button his auges should still power up for 10 seconds.

Chantra, try the start/stop button and see if they power up. If not, I'd still try the ground route first.
