    engine wouldn't shut off

guys i need your help, i had my carbs off my 1200r, rejeted, installed primer kit, put everything back together went to start it and it wouldnt start-normal- so i primed it almost started, primed it again and it started but it starded at wot
so i pulled the lanyard and it didnt shut-off
then i started to press the stop button and it didnt shut-off,
then i disconnected both battery cables and still didnt shut-off
then i pulled all three spark plug wires and still didnt shut-off
at this point i didnt know what to do, so i dragged that mofo out of my garage thinking it was gonna blow up or catch on fire, then i blipped the throttle and it finally shut down, it prolly ran for like 2 min at wot and it hadnt been started in like 3 months, sounds terrible huh?
has this happen to any one, any help or advice would be greatly apreciated, what should i do or look for?
    thanks in advance, jorge

These biatches do this! it's a runaway pump the primer while it starts and runs when it starts to rev up pump the primer and you can moderate it that way untill the system fills , scarry huh!

I would say you are done for the night Jorge . Get some rest and look at it again in the AM.

ps if you put larger low jets in you may need to lower your idle also

Happened to me 2 years ago.Ski sat and fuel evaporated in the lines. It took off but not WOT.It was revving real high though.I paniced like a MOFO. I grabbed thye primer and pumped like a mad man.It idled down.

the primer will kill it by pumping fast and if you can cover the intake with a towel or something it will kill them for future reference

Air leak usually caused that on my seadoos. Its scary.

An air leak will do it your correct but these seem to like to do it after you empty the fuel system and even manually filling the system doesn't eliminate the issue all together

good lord!! i thought this was the end of my summer, this thing scared the sh*t out of me hopefully it'll be fine in the morning, so when i start it again if it happens again i just pump the primer alot or cover the carbs so no air gets in right?
i just dont understand how the hell does it still run with no battery and all plug wires disconnected? thanks for the quick replyes fellas

some call it glowplugging and that might give you a hint as to whats going on but you should be fine just manning the primer
