    Impeller selection - stock '01 XLT1200

Bone-stock '01 XLT1200, trying to fix cavitation issues with the huge gap between my impeller and wear ring.

Got another wear ring ordered, thinking of replacing the prop as well - what would you guys suggest as an OEM replacement? Could I pitch up just a bit on a stock engine, or just leave it alone?

Have you sealed up the pump with a pump plug kit ?

A 13/19 Concord depitched to 12/18 is perfect for that ski. Of all the things I have done to my XLT and my GPR this mod surprised me the most.

the plug kit is on my list of stuff to put this thing back together.

I feel I've got bigger problems than pump kit will fix, it's no small caviatation. Tore the pump apart and found a crazy huge gap between impeller and wear ring.

Now to find a 13/19 Concord depitched to 12/18 in my price range

Dont put it all back together and then come back and do the PPK later.

Make sure you seal up inbetween the wear ring and the other surfaces with some Yamabond 4. You dont want any air inbetween there.

Agreed, I will do the PPK at the same time as the impeller and wear ring.

While taking it apart, I noticed some sealant in there..

I was thinking of using the 1211 left over from engine assembly, is that the same stuff as the yamabond 4?

Also, Fercho recommended 3M 5200 to use between the gaps.

Am I on the right track so far?

Lately I have been using 5200 to seal the extension hsg to transom and liner to extension.
