Thread: Electrical Problems..Help..

I have battery power and the buzzer is working, but the engine won't crank and the gauges won't turn on. Anyone have insight as to what I should specifically look for? A couple run throughs on the wiring shows nothing unplugged having to do with the gauges or battery..

what ski? does the buzzer just make one long beep when you put the lanyard on?
Check all fuses and depending on what ski you have as where to go from there as it is the symptoms of a faulty ecu or wiring fault (rxp) you need to check for 12v supply to ecu on the engine I need to check which pin to check

Check all your grounds on front of the engine.

There's 1 ground connected to the front of the engine. 2 connected to the top of the engine. This is a 2003 GTX SC switch harness matching with a 2004 RXP engine harness and gauge cluster. The 2 pins for VTS were removed from the RXP harness so that the 2 different model harnesses match up. The gauges have not worked yet, but before we even plugged the switch harness in, the ski would crank. When I put the key in I get the normal little beeps, then the dreadful long beep. I cannot diagnose the problem through the gauges or through BUDS because the gauges don't turn on and I don't have BUDS readily available. I will try to bypass the solenoid today.

anything to do with the starter relay? try switching it for a good one???
don't know how it would relate to the guages but....

Turned over now, but needs a really good battery charge. I still get 1 long beep and then the usual shorter beeps. I'm going to do the obvious next and check all the fuses in the MPEM to see if that's the reason the gauges won't work.

Fuses are good. Everything is pointing at a bad gauge cluster or the plug being broken on it in some way or another.

I had problems with the guages on our 2000, but it turned out a pesky mouse decided to dine on the wires.....

Buy Geo a plane ticket to come help you get everything ready for MB. Faulty gauge cluster would then be the last of your worries.
