Thread: hot on display

    hot on display

    polaris 1050 the word hot is displayed. when i take the grey wire from the cdi box off the circut board it goes away. the blue wire to the exhaust temp sensor is not grounded.cdi bad??? thanks keith

    Is the MFD showing HOT all the time, or only after you start riding?

    if it was the cdi it would still cut rpm's evan unconnected
    ok I DONT think it is the cdi ,but maybe the board,is the back all rusted up --NO Then trace the wire that the grey connects to on the board and spend 5 mins. testing that circuit-(kant spell)

    Disconnect the temp sensor at the exhaust and see if the light goes away, if so check the temp sensor wire as it may be cut or pinched at the mounting bracket area.

    Keith,the tan wire is for the temp sensor,it will attach to the electrical board,with a tan wire going to the MFD. In 97 the service manual states there is a diode on the circuit board(97 sl & slt 1050),make sure none of those are grounded.
