I'm getting tired of this gp hull.
I posted a few months back a thread about my 1997 yamaha gp1200 hull that started to crack. I repaired the hull with 4 layers of fiberglass cloth on the inside and three layers on the outside. All was done as supposed to be and I used epoxy resin instead of polyester resin. I painted the whole craft and assembled everthing as writin in the service manual. After three times riding I noticed again a crack in the hull. Right were the strap holds the fueltank. i'm getting really tired of this and I rather take the engine out and put it in an XL, buy a couple of quarts of gasoline and light in on fire. But on the other hand I LOVE the gp hull the way is handles and want to fix it again. Any ideas? Does anybody make carbon fiber hulls for these crafts?

Carbon fiber is no longer available....new. There are a few floating around out there on the secondary market....they are pretty rare. I'm fortunate enough to own one. I'm not selling it. I do have a perfect GP hull with no cracks or structural problems I would sell. Let me know if you're interested. I promise to make a deal, but you'll have to get it shipped.

I hate to hear about your bad luck with the GP hull. I have never had a bit of trouble with mine & I wish you could say the same. You will not be happy with an XL hull after you have become acustom to the nimbleness of the GP.

Thanks for the response guys. I trying to figure out what to do. What makes it worst is the money I spended on it for rebuilding the engine and a new paintjob. I looks great. but it's just frustrating. You can look for yourself in the pictures. I actually tought it was black metallic but it turned out to have a special effect when the sun hits it and it changes color to very dark metallic brown/gold. I wasn't my plan but it stayed nice on the craft.

Thanks, I'm not done with it yet. I still want to redo the seat covers and put some stickers on it.
