    Hull painting

I am in the process of repairing the scratches left from beaching the craft over the years. I used a fiberglass bondo to fill in the grooves and scratches. Once sanded I plan on using this paint. Has anyone used this product/paint before? If so how does it go on with a brush or roller? It claims to be capable of being applied with either technique with excellent smooth results.

Although the fiberglass filler will probably work...but you should really have used S.M.C. filler since your hull is S.M.C. material. So once you paint the bottom, don't be surprised later on if the bondo stuff starts chipping/peeling off. Sorry I have never seen this paint so I can't comment.

It works just like fiberglassing, but it is just pre-mixed. I think it will work fine, but than again....

This is the stuff I used. It's as hard as a rock, being an novice I am learning that more is not always better. Goes on easy, sanding down a whole different story .

Shane,if your doing the whole hull, you might want to blueprint it while your at it. Basiclly smooth sand the whole bottom with a long sand board. making a perfectly smooth bottom,Sometimes good for a few MPH's. Do a search for more info on it.
