Thumbs up Another non-powervalve 1400 hit the water today!

I got my ported 1390 pistons and cylinders in from Lowell last night. I gave them to Jim at Jim's Performance around 8:30 last night and by 1:30 today he had it running! Jim did a complete rebuild, set up the ride plate, pump, repitched the impeller and a few other things. I got it in the water around 6:00 this evening and got about 30 minutes on the motor. It feels very strong and ran perfect. I didn't get over 3/4 throttle for more than a second but it jumped right out of the water.

Just want to thank Jim and Lowell for dealing with me being paranoid and doing top notch work. I wouldn't give my ski to anyone else! I'll get some updated speed runs once it's broken in. I also had some help from Ross Nemo and put in an EGT Gauge which comes in very handy and keeps your mind at ease during the break in.

Measures exhaust gas temp. Good way to monitor the engine from overheating. Run too lean raises the exhaust temp.

Good job Bryan cant wait to see the numbers.

That ski sounds awesome, Do all the break in tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday will be the big day Bryan, Once that thing breaks in it will be wicked. And lowells porting and work looks awesome, He was right on the money with the squish band and the compression we wanted.

It sounds completely different from before. I can't wait to get some numbers out of this thing . The EGT Gauge was interesting, the first two 10 minute runs I made the exhaust was running about 490-540 degrees. The third time it double do 900-1020 at the same cruising speeds. I'm guessing thats when the rings started to seat in.
