    Primer pump install

    Hello,

Just thought I'd post up an option for primer pump if you are going premix. I used a 1 1\2 PVC bushing with 1\2 threaded opening to hold the pump. I had to dremel out the old oil fill hole just a bit to make it fit. I used a 1 1/2 PVC cap with the end cut off for the nut on the back of the bushing.

Here are some picts of the install.

What did you use to fill the hole? I tried to think of other options and came up with PVC. Looks good. Also what kind of paint did you use? I'm still wondering if I should pait it or not.

    Thanks!

i used the same piece that was there, i removed it and cut off the threaded part that the oil cap screws into, then i put 2 layers of fiberglass on it to cover the hole, sanded smooth painted it and drill the hole for the primer and it fits flush with the cowlings, and you can still use the lil rubber gasket and the plastic nut behind it

i used regular ppg auto paint and clear, i think thats what they use on yamahas from factory, not like seadoo or kawi that use gelcoat

How did you guys remove the plastic piece to get the oil fill housing out? I have removed the 5 bolts and it seems to be stuck on the top. Is there a special way you have to lit to disconnect tongue and groove fittings?
