Repitch or new impeller?
I was wondering if I need to go to a steeper pitch to possibly bring down my RPM's. '05RXP Riva filter, vent fans, 2.5deg wedge, R&D steering cone, Solas 14-19, Worx sponsons, NOPAS, Filled rideplate. In 108 deg heat in Havasu, 82 Deg H20, I was pinned at 8100rpm.. Is this the limiter? Will I gain any more speed with some more pitch? And for those of us without GPS, what speed is that aprox?

Your RPM's are perfect. Especially in that heat. Leave well enough alone.

Jerry, what do you typically target on RPMs for repitching with respect to the limiter? Do you shoot for limiter int he heat and let it go over when it cools down? Just under the limit in main season and a little over in the cooler off season?
Also, so you know off-hand the limiter on a '03 SC 4TEC? I think it is 7600 or 7650 but can't remember for sure?

If it's 85-90's and I ride all day and I'm 8100 at the end of the day, I'm pulling out a mm. If it's 8050 at the end of the day then I leave mine alone.
Right now I have to be riding and out in the sun for 4-5 hours until I see 8050. I'm hoping when I put in the 158 thermo I can pull out another mm and get another mph.

I like to keep the stock ECU equipped skis at 8100 in the heat.
I think the limiter is 7650 on the GTX SC

Hard thing is figuring out if your over the 8100. Mine pegs at 8100 because of the wedge. So if I'm at 8300 the only way to know is to make it a mm steeper and see if it's still 8100 after a day of riding.
