This happened in less than 2 hours...
My ski went from stock to the following mods in one hit...
RRFPR set at 62psi
Gutted waterbox with thru hull
4 inch intake up front
Ski ran at 8100-8150 NOT on the limiter.
When I pulled the head off to replce the valve springs I did notice that I had 2 cracked ignition coils, not sure whether that woud make any difference?
Any ideas why this happened?

You need to drop your RRFPR pressure to 60 psi
I would put the new ignition coils in and see if your RPM's come up.
It's typical to have the exhaust manifold erode away like in your pic. Yours actually isn't that bad.

OK I will try that, I set it at 62psi because the it was very cold when i was riding, about 5 degrees!

I had a drysuit on + helmet & goggles, still cold though!

Felt quick, thought it may have been a bit quicker,
I was using non BRP oil, a normal 10W40 mineral oil, I now understand that this may have been causing the SC to slip so I'm going back to BRP oil for the next test.
Can anyone else comment on the non BRP oil causing the SC to slip?

Grant, i used to use Castrol GTX 10W40 and had a clutch slipping problem. Once i went back to the BRP oil that problem stopped.
You may have a boost leak causing the low RPM's.
If you didn't seal the stock IC blockoff plug with silicone i would go ahead and do so. Check all your couplers real good.

Block-off has loads of silicone, but I will double check the couplers.
Antoher question, I took the exhaust manifold off of my head to do spring upgrade. I notice there are no exhaust manifold gaskets, should I use a normal exhaust sealant when putting it back on?

You should look at Mitch Newlins exhaust tip mod. Its in the classifieds or pm him at mitch411rxp. I put it on my open boat last weekend and it seems to be working great for me. I am running a Rude Charger with a 6 injector Ignipower set-up on it.
