No, it improves both acceleration and top speed. Same with all the Riva staged kits.

So the RXP-X is basically a stock Stage 2 RXP..They just cant go over 70 cause of coast guards,so they have insane holeshots.Though if you get a different prop and grate would that put you up there around mid 70's?Also if thats the case why not get a 07 RXP for 9300 and take the 3k plus you save over the RXP-X and put a Stage 2 on the RXP?Wouldnt the Stage 2 RXP be faster top end same low end and handle just as good since alot of major parts are changed?

Very possible depending on the outcome of the X pump tunnel. If it takes blocking a portion of it off........... Pretty much back to a 215 with a big X on it.

Drummer, thats what a lot of us have thought for awhile, at least for non-racers ... I think the X differences make it a killer CC race ski though. But for recreational riders, your summary is pretty close I think. The X will always have an edge in handling, turning and acceleration due to the redesigned pump shoe and aggressive grate. If you are just a recreational rider and put on parts to change that ... then it might be smarter to just start with a standard RXP.
