The purpose of an aftermarket pipe is to raise the max rpm and make more HP in the new rpm range. Pipe tuning is give and take, just like props. The bottom end suffers when a pipe is installed, as it has to get past the dead spot to the hi-revving happy point. This is the pupose for water injection. It fools the exhaust pulse and give the engine the low-end torque it had with the stock pipe. If you don't use it, the ski becomes a slug out of the hole.
So...if you don't want water injection...don't buy a pipe. The simplest way to keep it, is keep it stock...
