    Removing oil injection

Can I remove pieces 8-12 and just cap the oil nipples on the pump and carb and reinstall the pump?

Keep in mind that a small air leak and you will run lean and burn it up!!!! I would spend the $20 and get the plate and do it the correct way.

It's not a matter of being cheap, it's a matter of time. I can put the engine back in the ski right now, or I have to wait a week for the plate. Other then a possible air leak is there any other drawbacks?

Make a plate out of any scrap metal you have.

Whoever designed the pump mount needs to be shot . That bottom bolt on the oil pump SUCKS to get out. I have no clue how any of you guys get that bolt out with the engine in the ski. The bed plate has no recess for a socket and you can not get a wrench on it. I had to hold the wrench vertical to the bolt and do 1/8th turns to get it off. I will make a plate out of some duct tin tomorrow night and install it. Also is it possible to squeeze the motor into the hull with the exhaust manifold on? I'd really rather have that attached instead of standing on my head to install the manifold with the motor in the ski.

And yes the exhaust manifold should be installed prior to installation. It should actually be installed before you torque the cylinders down to the block.
