    problem with 07 riva ecu..

Ive had a riva ecu fitted to my 07 rxp at my local dealer.. However the speedo isnt working.. IT reads zero on the dash, but if you spin the wheel on the speed sensor it wont move off zero.. Everything else works would there be something wrong with the ecu?? The speedo worked fine before the ecu was fitted..

The dealer who activated your ECU didn't turn on the speedo feature. He will have to do it again.

Jerry, if the Speedo isn't activated will it still read something?

I ask because my speedo wasn't working properly it would read 0 most of the time but at top speed the speedo would read 2-3mph

that's a SPEEDO sensor issue, not an ECU activation issue

I have the same problem with mine... I had the dealer check out the speedo and they told me its the ECU. They said they checked the sensor and made sure its working right. Also they said it is activated in the ECU... they told me my ECU is just not outputting the speed to the Speedo and i would have to talk to Riva.

usually if the speedo is not activcated it wont even display a single digit... it's just blank

but, since two of you with Riva ECUs have the same problem, i'd have to say it is ECU related...

    interesting..

please post back the final prognosis, i'd be interested to hear

I emailed Bubba a few weeks ago about it, never heard back and kinda just forgot about it. My speedo is not a big deal since I have the GPS. The dealer did charge me an hour labor to diagonose my speedo.
