Damn, that's some heavy duty miles. That's half the distance of the Mark Hahn 300.

We put in at riverside sports in fayettiville, to get through the locks this time of year you have to be there at a certain time because they are on a schedule locking though fish but normaly you can just call the lockmaster, phone numbers are on the army corps web site, call ahead.
Gas stop in Elizabeth Town, there is a small landing under bridge, then just walk to the top of the bridge, there is a station there. We each carry 2 - 2.5 cans, they fit snug in the foot wells. We started with the full tanks, 18 gal + 5 gal carry along, then we added 8.0 gal at Elizabeth Town, total gas about 28 gallons. Do not run out of gas on the river, very few houses or docks and an abundance of wildlife, I've heard banjos playing.
Breakdowns suck, it's a long tow if a ski goes down, bring a ski rope just in case. If anybody wants to go next time let me know.
Just a side note, the msx 150 gets slightly better mileage than a 2004
msx 140, the 140 used about 1 gallon more, but the 140 is slightly faster,
if we run WFO for a 2 mile stretch the 140 will be ahead by 25 feet.

Camping on the way would be questionable in my opinion, maybe tie off and stay in Wilmington waterfront hotels. But if camping in the jungle is your thing, go for it, ... one of our our members was special forces from the university on south vietnam, "I'll skip that camp out"..!
