    Bilge Wiring ??'s

Just wondering how and where you guys are getting the power and grounds for your bilge setups.

How are you tapping into the wires ? and what is done to keep it from getting water ?

I'm wiring mine to the battery posts. I got some 16 guage wire from Radio Shack. I'm mounting the 3-way switch in the bottom of the glove box. Pos wire from battery to the switch. 2 pos wires (one for automatic and one for manual) from the pump to the switch. Neg wire from the pump to the battery. If your switch does not have a fuse be sure to put a fuse in the pos line from the battery to the switch at what ever rating the pump shows, 3-5 amps probably.

I do not want to wire into the ski electrics. However, if I did wire it to the electrics I would use a radio shack 12 volt 30 amp relay so the load on the ski would only be about 100 ma. The relay wiring is easy but I can't remember exactly how I did it for my diesel horn.

Do you need pictures? I can show you step by step and what to use to seal that wire. Larry pretty much covered everything, but you have a different bilge pump remember? I'll be back!

Hey, Cowboy! you may want to wait untill I post some pics. There is a certain tape I used to seal the wires. I can't get to it and take a picture....it's dark out there and there's a skunk lurking around my yard looking for a payback
