    carbon ring install problem

Well, I'm feeling reel stupid here. Would someone please give me some advice on how to re-install the circlip on the driveshaft. I've been trying for nearly 2 hours and not making any progress. Is it possible there is more than one groove? Anyway, I'm feeling like a real idiot...please help!

I had a friend push on the end of the shaft in the tunnel while I used my blocks of wood to force the bellows to the rear so you can see the groove and I pushed it in while holding it with a small pair of plyers.

    I'll give it another try...

Maybe I just need to grit my teeth and get mad. Or maybe I need to have a beer first?

    carbon ring

The tool was bought throught Jerry's store. It is about 2 ft. long and pivots off the engine to push the sliding collar back. Just as important is to have something behind the driveshaft to keep it from sliding back while putting the c clip in.
