Green Hulk has the worst luck of anyone!
Im so sick over my situation i could throw up
As everyone knows i had a bad oil control ring in my freshly built engine. I yanked the engine and sent it overnight to Nils on Tuesday. Wedensday it was a no show. Today is Friday and it's still missing in action.
As a backup plan someone offered to send me a spare shortblock he had that he thought was good. I had Unishippers pick it up in record time and deliver it to me the very next day. I eagerly went home after work and put the engine on my engine stand. I rolled the crank over carefully inspecting the bores and everything appeared great. I got ready to drop the head on and went to put #3 at TDC and noticed that the piston stopped about .060 short of the deck of the block Friggen bent rod. I pulled the plug on the PTO housing and out came the milky oil. Friggen hydrolocked motor!
So i know this other guy in Florida that knew of a wrecked RXP he could get the engine out of and have it sent to me overnight the next day. He picks up the engine and is on his way home with it, tailgate down and the thing rolls out the back of his truck going around a corner and smashes the case and PTO housing in the roadway.
Can it get any worse?
Of course it can!
So now im forced to fix the bent rod engine. I scavenge one of my old stock pistons and pin as i dont trust the one on top of the bent rod and have Mark Underwood sent me out a new connecting rod, rod bearing, the necessary O rings and upgraded flywheel bolts. Oh, i even have him toss in a tube of that 5910 silicone to seal up the case halves. This all goes out yesterday and was set to arrive today.
Customs seizes it They fax me some documentation having me state that the silicone in the box is not in the Toxic Substance Control Act listing. WTF? It's fucking silicone!!!
So now, IF im lucky i will see my connecting rod tomorrow. If not it will be Monday.
Its likely i will have an engine pieced together by next weekend, but this leaves me with absolutely no tuning time to get it dialed in.
Its going to be a "throw it together and it is what it is" project
Can i go throw up now?

Take comfort in one thing...
A.) with the insurance tab on that motor you can rest assured that shipping company will find it...
And if they don't:
b.) The check the ysend you will surely cover a totally new one...
Of course none of this does you any good for Mudbug...at least you have your wife's ski...Maybe it's time to stop right where you're at on yours, throw the other "experimental" on hers and dial that puppy in for the bug...Might still be able to top 80?

Why not just pull her engine and use it in the meantime?
I agree this sucks for you. How in the world does someone lose a crate with a friggin engine? and then drop another engine out of a truck?
I'd be ready to just give up

Hey Jerry, If you think you could get my whole ski sold at or after mudbug you could use the engine out of my RXP until yours arrives.
