    Now no Spark SL750 94

Ok, ran like crap last weekend, came home pulled the heads and noticed blow by on teh head gaskets. Pulled the carbs, cleaned them out (was way rich) pulled the manifold and replaced the reeds with new tourque reeds, did a cooling upgrade that removed the water rail adn thermostat. Cut teh thermostat off and capped the brown wire, Put it all back together

No spark. I had great spark 2 days ago, what did I do. What am I missing.????

I know the MFD has a thermo conection, but i didnt think it would kill spark if disconnected??????

Check the Kill switch (removed one of the leads from the board .. no change

What next oh great Ski Guru's (or is it Guri)

    Thanks

    Sean

Hey Sean, check your cranking volts. Needs to be more than 10.4-5 volts while cranking.

Got to start with the basics first. Ohm test the stator and coils. Check for loose/corroded connections, or is the circuit breaker tripped?

Charged overnight and now I have spark, but it is intermitent if I have the plug sitting on top of the cylinder. Wanted to hold it against a lug to see if it was grounding well, but didnt know if that would light me up or not. ????

Going to clean and reinstall the ground strp.

    Will update

Use a booster cable or clamp to ground the spark plug solidly.

    Update

Charged all night and now I have spark

Primed the fuel lines and poured a littel fuel mix down each carb. Engine turned strong, 135/138/135 PTO/Cen/Mag

I tried to start the engine, but I could not get it to fire. Every once in a while I would get a complete rev of fire, but then it would stop. Couple of back fires and a few more studders.

Figured the engine weas too rich, so I turned in the low all the way and went back to 1 turn out on all.

Plugs look oily when I pulled them

    Suggestions???

    Sean
