Pic of my trued Riva grate

I had to get a new intake grate after my pump inserts pulling out so I went over to Riva last weekend and got there grate. I trued it the best I could to my ride plate and I also trued the front mount of the grate to flush with the hull. I hope to go out tomorrow and see how the new grate works. I took some pics.

Hey man what did you fill your holes with? I have tried high quality black silicone, but it just blows out after one ride. Got some black 5200, think I might try that.

    to fill in bolt holes

    1) piece of duct tape on the head of the bolt

    2) small piece of rope to use as a filler

    3) layer of marine epoxy

Looks good mksmi! I need to do this soon. Did you use a palm sander or sand paper to flush up the grate?

Thanks Searay. I did the grinding on the grate with it off the ski. I used an air die grinder with a rough grinding disk on it. Just sand paper would take forever. On the RXT you need to remove a lot of material from the bottom of the grate to get it close. Once I got it ground down as close as I could I finished it with 220 grit sand paper on a random orbit sander.
