XP-S Fully Synthetic
I converted my 3D to XP-S synthetic this weekend. I did remove the remaining mineral oil that the previous owner used. The XP-S oil was surprisingly dark to me (I have never used before). It was noticeably darker than the mineral oil. Yes, the XP-S I purchased from the dealer was sealed
Is this normal?

Yes, it's actually XPSII oil, and the color is dark brown. What year 3D is yours? I would think all would be required to use XPSII, even the first year dogs with the 800 engine in them.
You need to change your oil filter too...BTW. Mixing oils in it will cause it to gel and restrict, trashing a piston.

thomp: if your going to run full synth, give kev a shout, 800amsoil4u...
I believe castrol still makes the oils for BRP, unless something new has developed. If you care to do a search, there are tons of great info here, and RX951 (Billie) can also handle your questions correctly regarding oil.
