    First ride of the season

I finally got the chance to ride my ski this past week end. Since last year I have blocked off the bov, installed Rive ride plate and had Jim do his magic, put the air filter under the glove box and I had to have David at Impros rework my prop because of the scorching tips on the blades. "Dealer wanted to replace the pump and impeller almost $800.00"

Last year I could only get 67.4 and 7680 rpm. This year when I ran it with gas left over and sta-bil in the tank It turned 7860 rpm and ran a 69.7 two seperate times. This was before the buzzer went off and 2 bars on the fuel guage. I don't know what to give the credit to. The mid range sure feels stonger this year (bov) maybe. Rides higher in the front, (Riva plate/Jim's magic). Higher rpm's (Impros maybe). It all just kind of came together.

I think some of my problem from last year was the bov leaking. There is a noticeable difference in the mid range power and speed. I feel that if I had fresh fuel and let the buzzer go off I could see 70mph. I am feeling a lot better this year than I was last year about the performance of my red boat. Last year I just could not get the rpms to get above 7680.

    Roger,
Congrats on your new found speed.
A few more tweaks and you'll be over 70 in no time

SE, are you going by the speedometer or a gps? Avg speed on an ultra is about 65. some more, some less. But 70 I have not seen on here stock. Mine ran 66.7 GPS stock and I weigh 225. Guess they should have used your ski for the shootout!
