    RXP-X Engine Pics

Started modding last night, put in the Riva Intake and upgraded the exhaust clamps. Going to put in a free flow and fill the ride plate holes tonight. Its mandatory to get all the i/c and exhaust hoses out to get to the back of this motor. Hopefully with a baseline of 71.3 I can get a litlle more top end and more acceleration.

Why did you decide to go Front intake instead of a Rear?

Currentley you are not able to run a Rear intake in the x's because of the location of the external intercooler but from what ive read Riva is working on a relocation kit so you will be able to run a rear intake but untill then.......

until the relocation kit for the intercooler comes out I dont think there is any room to put a rear air intake. But I could be wrong

I had a rear intake on my old RXP and it was a disaster. The kind of riding we do the rear intake sucks up every bit of salt and coats the s/c resulting in loss of performance and water ingestion.

I added 1mm of pitch to the stock prop to make up for the increased rpms.

we ran the rear intake and as soon as you start turning real hard or get near other skis it sucks up half the lake and runs like crap so we took it out and run the [email protected] intake set up but with 4" hose and adapters.

The front intake is safer, if you go 4 inch even better. After I ran the rear air for a few months I had to pull the intake manifold to wash out all the salt that got in there. The engine had swallowed some serious salt. I had a front intake from before and decided to throw it in while I upgraded the exhaust clamps, it just brings me closer to all the components of Riva Stage 1.
