BMW Anyone have one?
Anybody have a bmw?
My dad is looking at a 2005 325i with about 59k miles on it. color white, and looks pretty good through pictures, we went out to the dealer and they had it somewhere else for the night. It should be back soon, but I want to know if this is a good car and if it would be good for my dad to get it or if it a mistake to get.
oh yeah its a 4 door.. which is something he really wants..

My brother has one its an 07, he loves it. It's pretty nice, i would go for the 525 a little bit bigger, i do know he has had no problems with it.

my parents have the 07 325i 4 dr. I love it, but they hate it. It has a very sporty ride. Its very stiff and thats what they dont like. Dad refers to it as "riding like an old grain truck". They want that Cadallac ride. It has the smaller motor vs the 335i but its still nice in my opinion. I like taking left turns with it at 30mph sticks like glue!

I know the M's are built differently but my last car before the Trailblazer SS was a 2004 M3. I can tell you that my friend has a 330XI and I had the M. Both cars drive AMAZING. From the door seal (when you close), to the transmission etc. They are smooth! My M3 manual drove like a dream. I highly recommend pretty much any BMW over a 318 (not built too well).

Get an extended warranty if possible. They are great driving cars, but have loads of issues.

I have a 330ci for about a year now. It is an awesome car and I have not had any issues with it. I cannot see myself buying anything other than a BMW if I were to buy another car. My dad used to have an M3 then bought a 545 last year. My best friend also has a 04 M3. None of us has had any issues yet.

I work with a guy who has an 05 328 i think it is. he likes it but wants to get rid of it as the power window components are plastic and keep breaking. 400 or so a pop to fix the power windows. he has had to fix three of them so far..same window twice....We go out to lunch and he warns everyone to not put down the windows...
I had the same problem with my A4, but Audi replaced them with metal components...

I've had lots of BMW's, including 325's. I don't recommend owning
them out of warranty. After 50K miles is when stuff starts to happen.
On my last 325i I had to do left wheel bearing, drive train bushing,
radiator, 2 window regulators, AC out, etc. Unless you get some
killer price and don't plan to drive over 10K miles/year I would go
I've got a BMW X5 now, 183K miles, bought it new in 2001. It was
only about $15,000 in repairs so far.......won't bore you with the details.
If it goes 300K, then it's OK. The BMW motor is what makes the
car. It's 100% German and the boys know what they're doing! I don't
use a drop of oil and the power is like the day I bought it.
PS - all 4 window regulators went out on the X5, $200 a pop from local
independent. BMW Dealer would have charged $350. Over a grand on
windows is this day and time is a little much! They use a cheap plastic
part that snaps.....My visor broke, $250 for that, didn't ever fix that one!

Ahhh BMW's... my other passion. Check this site out op. This is where I hang out other than Greenhulk. Lots of useful info. It is an E46 specific site. That 2005 Alpine White 325i you are planning to get is known as an E46 in BMW factory code.

nah im not planning on getting it..
Actually we are looking right now at the 530xi 5 series are bigger, and has more features on it.. compared to the 3. Plus a lil more engine.. packin some more heat
I was actually lookin at the 545 for a bit, but 8 cylinders is quite big especially my biggest concern, which is kind of funny but being a gas guzzler.. the 530xi isn't much better but..
im still not sure.. well dad and i still aren't sure... still gotta do some more looking into
